초록
Particulate matter(PM) in the air directly affects human health. This study investigated the correlation between indoor and outdoor PM in hospitals, libraries, game centers, child-care centers, postnatal care centers, indoor parking lots, and multiplex stores, using a light-scattering technique. The results showed different correlations according to the particle size. In an indoor environment, particles flowed in from outdoors through air circulation were slightly eliminated by various means such as air cleaners and occupant’s respiratory system. Hence, indoor PM concentration is generally lower than outdoor PM concentration. The results showed that small-sized PM in indoor air has a strong relationship with outdoor PM. Conversely, large-sized PM has a weak relationship with each other. Small-sized PM has a strong relationship with cooking and smoking, and large-sized PM is related to the physical activity of the occupant.
