This study was an experiment to confirm the effects of reducing the exposure to
asbestos through the use of anti-scattering agents. In the scattering test for air
movement, buildings ceilings, constructed of asbestos-containing materials, treated with
anti-scattering agent treatment showed a 100% reduction in the asbestos’ concentration.
The asbestos-containing ceiling materials treated with the anti-scattering agent showed
the resistance to impulse, showed a 100% reduction in scattering prior to using the
anti-scattering agent. The average bond strength associated with anti-scattering agent
treatment was maintained within 6.4 kg중/mm2 on the average, which was in accordance
with the ASTM(American Society for Testing and Materials) standard. The effect of
anti-scattering agents on naturally occurring asbestos(NOA) decreased after an average of
five months due to weathering.
